How To Make Your Imprinted Pens The Ones People Keep

June 17, 2011 6:31 pm Published by

As a writer, pens are a rather inevitable part of my life… and have always held a unique fascination for me. While I can appreciate the speed of the keyboard and the convenience of note taking apps, there’s nothing quite like the feel of a quality pen in your hand, the satisfaction of scratching something down in a smooth flow of ink to paper. Even in writing this post, the initial thoughts went from pen to paper first. So it’s no wonder then that imprinted pens are one of the most popular, most effective and affordable choices of so many businesses when it comes to branding and/or advertising.
Part of their favored status comes because pens are just so popular… even with our laptops and handhelds, we continue to need (and use) these writing instruments, with no signs of casting them aside anytime soon. The computer literate generations continue to reach for a pen to jot down phone numbers, make lists, sign checks and documents. What they lack in must-have technology, pens make up for in pure practicality — they don’t need to be recharged and are impervious to power outages.
Making sure the imprinted pens you use to promote your brand are the ones that people keep, and use, is easier than you think…

On The Value Of Being Thankful

Thank you.
These two little words are really rather remarkable, they convey so much, and as we find ourselves pausing to give thanks for all the blessings of our lives, I can’t help but remember the unexpected thank you I received along with a recent order from on online supplier of iPhone and iTouch accessories known as (prepare for shameless plug here) Gordy’s Gadgets. I was doing some early holiday shopping and these guys went out of their way to see that I got what I was after.
If that wasn’t enough, Gordy and his gang did something utterly unexpected (especially considering the economy) upon shipping my order. They included a thank you gift, a pen imprinted with a thank you message, their web address and a reminder to order. The thing is, it’s a really nice pen (and I LOVE pens)… substantial with a comfortable grip, deep rich blue barrel and flowing black ink. Nice clicking mechanism too. I suppose it’s a quirk of writers that we are especially aware of pens (all writing instruments in fact). Good ones are worth their weight in gold… and despite what you think, they are hard to find.
I have the pen beside me now, and every time I look at it, I think of that company, and the gesture, and how it made me feel. Like I was valuable, appreciated… worth the time it took to add that little something extra to my order… I like these guys.
All good things for a customer to believe about a business… including yours!

Promotional Products Are Perfect For Back To School

You can almost feel it in the air… summer is passing… the days are getting shorter… the kids are getting antsy. The back to school circulars have started to appear in the paper… the catalogs are finding their way into your mailbox and the spots have started on TV… though I’ve yet to see my favorite… the one that uses a Christmas carol to portray a parent’s unbridled joy at the return of the kids to the classroom.

It IS a wonderful time of the year.

Marketplace Secrets Of Park And Rec Departments

Summer officially begins in June, which means people everywhere are enrolling in local park programs and taking advantage of recreation areas for picnics, parties and a little pool time. Park and recreation departments across the country provide their communities with programming, services and facilities such as swimming pools, community centers, outdoor recreation spaces, tennis courts and more.
Though summer is the busiest season for these professionals, their operations actually run year-round. In my experience in the Park District of Highland Park, Ill., promotional products played a major role in several marketing goals. (more…)

Practice What You Preach.

There’s a very clear irony in the way many of us run our businesses every day. Though we sell, promote and share ideas with our customers and hope that they’ll purchase our promotional products, we salespeople forget how important it is to give away self-promos. Funny paradigm, isn’t it?
How many times can you tout the value of your wares to your clients and prospects without realizing that they are equally effective for your own organization? Through the years, I have increased my business by using what we ask our customers to purchase from us every day. Simply put, if you give it away, they will come and buy more. (more…)

Promoting A Renters Life Of Luxury.

A private, 35-seat theater; spa services; an upscale wellness and fitness center; personal concierge services; shuttle service; resort-style pools with upgraded furniture; social events such as poolside parties, hikes and cocktail hours; an on-site wine café – no, this isn’t the list of amenities offered at a five-star resort. It’s just some of the “lifestyle enhancements” luxury condo and apartment complexes are offering their residents.
During the past decade, renting became not just the alternative for those who could not afford to buy, but a choice for city-dwellers who desired a maintenance-free living situation. It’s a trend particularly affecting young professionals in large urban areas.
As the renters of the world became more prevalent, especially for higher-end developments, builders began creating luxury living environments to lure new tenants. Success in this market requires two tactics: building in a plethora of amenities and attracting potential tenants to view developments. (more…)
