Now is the time to be focusing on American Heart Month, which is in February. As of 2018, 30.3 million adults in the United States were diagnosed with heart disease. Heart disease is also the leading cause of death in the U.S., causing one out of every four deaths. Because of this, American Heart Month is important for everyone.
Medical professionals – doctors of all types, nurses, etc. – should all take this opportunity to educate their patients on heart health. Share statistics, remind them of tests that are needed, and keep an eye on heart-related symptoms.
