As we slowly (or perhaps quickly) approach the first week of August, we find ourselves heading toward Simplify Your Life Week. While the origin is unknown, it is observed during August of each year. The goal is, obviously, to simplify and declutter. That doesn’t just mean decluttering objects, though. There are plenty of ways that we can simplify our lives.

Think about all of the projects that you have taken on. Do you have too much on your plate? Are you not being as productive as you would like to be? Figure out if there is anything that you can delegate. If you still have too many hats to wear, see what you can remove completely. Sometimes we have a obligations that we have to see through, but in many cases, we can duck out of something when it all becomes too much. Take some things off your plate so that you can refocus on what is important to you.

Making your workspace breathable is important, as well. Create a clear space for you to work with as minimal distractions as possible. You may also want to consider utilizing calendars, planners, and charts to map out your work schedule. Getting in the habit of this can help you become more productive without being as overwhelmed.

Sometimes we need to take a break from the outside world and focus on ourselves. Try turning off the social media notifications on your phone and see what that does for your stress levels. Work on some breathing exercises, get some fresh air, and figure out potential diet changes to make your body and mind feel better.
