Why You Should Push Through the Difficult Times

One of the most annoying things that I have to go through is spinal injections. I’ll spare you the gorey details but the sum of it is that I frequently need injections to deal with the pain in my back. Yesterday was another one of those days. Laid up in bed from anesthesia, I dealt with pain at the site of the injections while I waited for the relief. Hopefully the procedure will help me, seeing as I’m in pain daily. Some days are okay and I can move around without assistance. Sometimes I need to use a cane, and there are even times that I have to use my walker. It’s both physically and emotionally draining to deal with this on a regular basis, but it is what it is.

The reason that I tell you this is because I want to remind you that sometimes it’s necessary to push through. Many times, people give up when things get hard. No matter the situation – whether it’s a physical disability, starting a new business, creating a new marketing plan, or quitting smoking – it’s easy to give up. The trials weigh on you, and you become discouraged. Allowing yourself to end your plans (or refuse to make new plans) is the easiest route you can take. But it’s almost never the ideal one.

The best way to get through the difficulties is by pushing past them. The roadblocks in life can make you stronger, while teaching you as well. We’ve all run into things that strain our ambitions. But once we get through it, we know a little more about how to reach that goal. Maybe you’re passionate about your business. Maybe you have things you want to do, despite a physical setback. Maybe you have a burning desire to create a better life for yourself. Passion is the best way that you can push through. Find your passion and use it as motivation. Know your limits, but push yourself to reach your goals. You have more spark in you than you probably realize. Use that to your advantage so you can get through the misery. There is always a positive place on the other side.
