Re-opening your business during a pandemic can be a terrifying thought. There are different aspects of business – as well as how a lockdown has affected everyone – in order to be aptly prepared to re-open your doors. A huge question seems to be in regards to employees: how can we best take care of our company’s family?
Giving away too much can be just as detrimental as not giving away enough. When you charge for every small detail of your business, you risk coming off as either desperate or uncaring. However, when you provide free stuff constantly, you become at risk financially. You are still running a business and should always remember that.
Many businesses right now are re-opening but it’s sometimes difficult to find a way to get the word out. Pandemic or not, business big and small often struggle with finding just the right way that they are opening or re-opening…No matter the situation, when you are having trouble marketing face-to-face, you may need to find other ways to advertise.
With so many businesses being put on standby – whether because of financial difficulties or being temporarily shut down – people are banding together in an effort to help. We are all starting to learn who is actually essential in running things throughout the country, who is willing to help others, and the importance of business support. Waiters, bartenders, physical trainers, school teachers, and many others are currently trying to figure out how to make ends meet.
For social butterflies, networking comes easily. But others, like myself, tend to suck at it. Networking can be anxiety-provoking for many people. We walk into a room full of strangers, waiting for someone to pounce. Our knees buckle and our palms sweat because we know that someone will want to – ugh – talk.
